Reed Galen is a Managing Director of Mercury Public Affairs in the firm’s Sacramento office. Prior to joining Mercury Public Affairs, Reed served as Senior Consultant at Goddard Claussen Strategic Advocacy. While there, Reed worked extensively in the California public affairs sector and managed several ballot initiative campaigns; involved in all aspects of research, strategy and message development. Bringing a wealth of campaign experience to the firm, Reed has worked on both the state and national level in Texas, Pennsylvania, California and Washington, DC. Reed served as Deputy Campaign Manager for John McCain's presidential bid and was Deputy Campaign Manager for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's successful 2006 re-election campaign overseeing all day-to-day management of the organization, budgeting and finance. He also served on both the 2000 and 2004 campaigns for President George W. Bush. In addition to Reed's campaign experience, he has also worked at the Federal level serving in a variety of roles at the White House, the US Department of the Treasury and the Department of Homeland Security.
